Privacy is a hot topic these days, with data breaches and leaks of personal information in the headlines every week. Tom will discuss which online activities are most important to focus on and also which steps you can take to make yourself a much harder target for data brokers and online criminals. Privacy is essential to our dignity and it is well worth reviewing current best practices.

Tom Brossman

Tom is an IT Consultant providing technical support and training to local small businesses and individuals.

His primary focus is using free and open-source software on the desktop and server, plus reducing complexity for users where possible, with secure defaults and an emphasis on user privacy. Services offered include secure Apache and Nginx web hosting, domain name administration and email provision, and configuring or troubleshooting all those gadgets you have lying around the home and office.

In his spare time, he actively supports a number of local charities and non-profits including Driving for the Disabled, Jersey Fertility Support, The Glass Rainbow Trust, and the Channel Islands Occupation Society.
